Has anyone integrated a Nest thermostat with PowerHome? I'm
contemplating purchasing something to replace my dumb thermostat.
I've learned my HVAC is likely too large for my home I'm renting and a
smart stat may help compensate.
So can Nest integrate? And really, is there any reason to get the Nest
over other smart thermostats such as the Insteon thermostat?

I have some rudimentary integration with my Nest and PH. Basically, an EXE I wrote that can get temp, humidity, etc. and can set the temp and set home\away. I call it from a timed event to pump Nest's state into some globals and also have a macro that calls it to set home\away. So nothing deeply integrated but the basic capability is there. Let me know if you are interested and I will share.
Why Nest vs. Insteon? The main draw for me was the Nest looks cool.

Cool, that's what I was hoping :) I obviously don't need anything super fancy, Nest clearly does a bunch all on it's own an really doesn't need
help, it may even be cool to have Nest do things like make sure all the lights go out when away mode activates, just in case the switch didn't
get hit on the way out. Sounds like it'll work good though, and I agree, the Nest looks really slick.
I may just have to contemplate this a little more seriously. Georgia Power even has some incentive discount/rebate program up to $100 for
purchasing a programmable thermostat to replace a dumb one, and mine is about as dumb as you can get. All analog controlled and it doesn't even
tell you what the detected temperature is :(
