Peter,

Its been awhile since I had the K8000 out but it should be simple enough to setup. Open the PowerHome Explorer and navigate to PowerHome|Setup|Controllers. Define the K8000 with an appropriate ID and select Controller Type of "Velleman K8000". Next, select "Settings" and configure this screen to match your K8000. The defaults should all initially be fine except for setting the parallel port to proper value and declaring your inputs and outputs. Since you're in the UK, you'll probably also need to change the 0.25 to 0,25. Once this is complete, reinitialize so PowerHome will connect to the K8000.

Once connected, you should be able to define your digital inputs and outputs in the PowerHome Explorer under PowerHome|Devices|Digital I/O|Points. With the K8000, the unit column will always be 0. The point column will be from 1 to 64 (if you have 4 boards...1 to 16 for a single board). After this, you should be able to control (or monitor) your outputs and inputs from the Device Manager.

Dave.

OK, got it but how do I define the in and outputs on the card? The first 1 would be an output, the rest an input in the powerhome INI? Do I have to do this twice? in the INI and in the PowerHome Explorer under PowerHome|Devices|Digital I/O|Points?

Oh, I am not in the UK but on the other side of the channel.... (Netherlands) but the system is the same: instead of USA working with 0.25 We would use 0,25....

Peter
