I've completely removed the entire ceiling in my basement for another project and would like to install some infrastructure for a smart home. I'd like to install some cameras, security (motion sensors, door switches, even maybe some RFID sensors, keypads), lighting control.
It seems most everything is wireless but I'd like to install as much wired equipment as possible so I'm not replacing batteries. So here's my question. What type of cable should I run for these applications. Coax? Network? Low voltage? Both? How many conductors? I haven't decided on the model of equipment I'm going to install so I like to install the most common wires are used for each of these applications. Maybe there's a webpage that addresses these variables? Thanks in advance for any assistance!
