Hey everybody. My boss has decided we need a light to go on, then off, each time we sell something on our fledgling web store. I sort of said "sure no problem" now come to find out this is harder than I imagined. So my question for all you Guru's is, how do i get this light to turn off and on every time I get an email? What is the simplest solution?

Hmm, I don't have an easy PH solution for you. Probably depends on what email client you are using.
If you are using Outlook you can set up a rule to run an application, so you should be able to set up a batch file to flash a light using phcommand (see download section):
- Menu: Tools > Rules and Alerts...
- Click 'New Rule...'
- Select 'Start from a blank rule' option
- Select 'Check messages when they arrive' in the listbox
- Click 'Next' button
- Click 'Next' button, agree to every message popup
- Check 'start application'
- Click the underlined 'application' in the rule description
- Select an application, batch file, or ??
- Click 'Finish' button
Easy! Well, easy-ish

Hi tony,
Thanks, that makes a lot of sense, sometimes what is needed to to look at the process, makes way more sense to have outlook run powerhome than to have powerhome run outlook. I realized why I've been having so much trouble with power home, all the options are in PH explorer, which crashes when I try to load it. D'OH! I'll post more if I'm so retarded I can't figure out how to put together a command line, on, off script. Once again, thanks a bunch.
