Dave,

would there be a possibility to have the CC or Device-Status-screen to have a window outside PH on a 2nd monitor. I am brewing on making my Server run a multi-monitor setup so that I can have the main PH-screen on the server's main monitor and the cc/device status on the second monitor in a different room.

Peter,

PowerHome will be separated into Client and Server sections in a future version. The first thing you will see though is a stand-alone client Control Center that can be run on remote machines.

In the meantime, you can get both remote Device Status and Control Center by using the webserver and Internet Explorer run in fullscreen mode. It works very well and might get you by.

That sounds good, should I upgrade my PC for this?

the only big disadvantage is that the log becomes so big when every minute the page is refreshed...oh well...

Peter,

Shouldnt need to upgrade the PC.

Ive added to the to-do list to separate logging of web events for internal vs external .

I think he was referring to adding the second monitor in preparation (he hasn't yet).

Internal v external as in local network v outside? <he hopes>

Tony,

Im thinking of making the extra flag for "Trusted IP's" vs non-trusted. If you have to enter a userid/password to access the server then that would be one flag and if you've got trusted IP's (presumably your local network) then that would be a separate flag. Would this be suitable?

Peter,

Will do...did you ever get the DB I emailed you?

Dave.

If I understand correctly, I think that would be fine. I just don't want to wade through logs containing a ton of web traffic from my local touchscreen, for example.

Maybe allow IP masks/ranges (192.168.x.x or 192.168.0.1-192.168.0.255)?

Tony,

Basically anything that is in the web server configuration "Trusted IP's" section would follow one logging flag (which you could switch off) and everything else using another logging flag.

The "Trusted IP's" section allows you to do ranges using the asterisk such as 192.168.* for your internal network .
