Any way to support ph_playsound and ph_tts in DCC? This would be great for distributed announcements and such.

Well ph_playsound is definately no problem...not sure why I didnt include it in the first place. TTS on the other hand is a little more involved and would require the user to install the TTS modules. I'll look into it though since it would be really handy for remote TTS capabilities.

I'll release a new version of the DCC shortly after the next beta.

OK, what about an OSD function? Pop up messages and such, maybe even use graphics?

Are you talking about an OSD for the DCC? If so, would PowerHome need to process the returns from these messages?

Would the graphics be located on the DCC machine or the PowerHome machine?

 Dave.

Yup. An OSD for DCC. Processing returns would not be necessary.

As far as the graphics go, I could live without them, but it would be cool if they could live on the PH machine.

I've done some research and only come up with one available option (YAC). This works, but the options need to be set in the registry!

Im trying to think of something generic and Im thinking about using the IE web browser control. Basically, you could cause the DCC to open a window (you control size and position) without a toolbar, etc. that would then open a page (that you passed in the function) on the PowerHome server. That way, the graphics and even intelligence could reside on the PowerHome server and the page could be as simple or detailed as necessar.

Do you think this would server your purpose?

 Dave.

       | Im thinking about using the IE web browser control | | | Does that need IE, or can it be just the default browser?

The Microsoft Web Browser control is built into the OS, but uses IE. It's the same control that appears in the PowerHome client as the "Web Center".
