I have three Icon Relay (control) devices that are fine in the units list, but do
not show in the Device Status.

A possible bug? or is there another way to make the appear?

CONTROL devices don't show up in the Device status screen. That's used normally for remote switches that have no local load. If you want it to show, change the type to plain Icon Relay.

Easy enough to fix. Thanks.

But Icon Relays (control) do control a load. Since these were added via
auto-discovery, maybe there is a problem with the classification of these
devices.

Mine did the same thing on auto discovery. For some reason, they defaulted to Icon Relay (Control). I was speaking of the usage of the 2 different categories. It's the same for ALL the devices that are listed plain and (control). The only difference, from what I've seen, is whether it shows up on Device Status screens. Functionally, they are identical.

The next beta will have auto-discovery default to the non-control version.

The problem is that the switch doesnt know if a load is connected or not so there is no way for PowerHome to query and determine whether it should use the "Control" or non-control version of the Insteon Types and so just uses the first matching one that it finds.

The only difference really is that "Control" types do not show in the Device Status screen (as signified by the check in the "Control" field...the addition to the name is just for human readability). This was meant to signify devices that only "control" other devices such as a ControLinc or switches in a mult-way switch arrangment.

Dave.

Now that you have explained it, it makes sense. Thanks!
