Sorry, but I have had nothing but trouble out of the new version.
Maybe if some documentation were available, but many things just aren't working.
1) No KPL show up in the KPL configuration screen.
2) Where is the "Replace Device" function?
3) When Rebuilding a device, do I need to both hit "Rebuild" and then "Save"?
4) Is there a direct control function in the Insteon Explorer window? The old one does not seem to control my devices.
5) I'm not sure PH is actually communicating with the PLC. I am getting scrolling messages in the SDM window, but that is about it. The light on the PLC is not blinking at near the rate it did when making changes with the old version.
I am ready to go back to the last version to do some maintenance on my network.
Any help would be appreciated.

Ackkk!! Herdfan, thats definately not good news. However, I think I can help.
First, when upgrading, the database upgrade process was not able to copy over your Controllers due to some changes in the CTLRPARMS table. So the first thing you'll need to do is open the PowerHome Explorer, go to Setup|Controllers and recreate your controllers (I know you have at least the Insteon DM, not sure about any others). Use the same ID as was used previously. If you cant remember, just look at the controller in the Insteon Devices screen.
After recreating your controllers, reinitialize so that the changes take effect.
Second, the Insteon Types table was upgraded and I missed a couple of settings. There are a couple of new columns called "KeypadLinc" and "ControLinc". You'll want to make sure that any device that is a ControLinc has an appropriate check as well as any KeypadLincs (this is why your KPL's are not showing up in the KPL config screen). After making these changes, save (hit the refresh, this button is re-labeled in the next version) and close and re-open the Insteon Explorer (this requirement is fixed as well). You'll now see your KPL's.
The "Replace Device" function is now under the "Device Maint" tab. Scroll to the right and you'll see columns where you can enter the "Replace Address", or "Replace ID" or do a "Swap ID". Save changes and you should see the actions move to the "Pending Operations" window.
The "Rebuild" option does not require a "Save" and takes place as soon as you confirm (added to the pending operations queue). Check out the new "HoverHelp" by mousing over the question mark icons. It should help in documenting a lot of the new operations and changes to old operations.
No direct control currently in the Insteon Explorer (it's planned). If the Device Status screen is not controlling your Insteon devices, it's most likely a problem with your Controller ID. The Device Status screen uses the default controller defined for an Insteon Device and if you don't have a matching controller then the device cant be controlled.
Let me know how far this takes you and we'll get the rest working.
HTH,
Dave.

Thanks Dave. I think I have gotten it working now. It took a little learning as I was very familiar with/used to the old method.

Spoke too soon.
I had success with the "Replace ID" function with a dimmer. Then I tried to "Replace ID" with a very full KPL. All it did was attempt to remove the old links. There is no record of it trying to recreate the links in the "New Device".
So I thought, well I will just add the new links manually. I can't find out how to specify which button I want the links to control/repspond to. What am I missing?
Sorry to be so thick, but I am just not getting this new layout.

I think I found my problem. The KPL had the wrong address and so nothing was working. Don't know if it moved to the new version wrong or what happened. But that was the KPL problem.
Figured out the button issue also.
I be back with more stupid questions later.

Herdfan,
Glad it worked itself out. Another potential gotcha is when a switch is flagged as "Failed". People set a switch up to perform some actions, save, and then watch the "Pending Operations" window and nothing ever pops up. If this happens, go to the "Device Maint" screen, hit "Refresh" and then look for the pinkish background in the Failed column. The next version will allow the user to set how many times a critical failure must be reached before a device is flagged as failed.
Now that you've used it a little, do you still prefer the old way?
Dave.

I am starting to see where you are going with the Insteon window. I guess I was used to being able to see more than a couple of links in the old window.
One thing I would like to see is a comprehensive report. On one page list ALL devices with address, then have a page, or more if needed, for each device listing all devices controlled and all devices it responds to.
The one issue I am still having, and you may already be working on this, is that as I move though the devices in the "LINKS" window, I see several controllers and repsonders with "Flagged Create" or "Flagged Delete". Yet no matter what I do I can not get those "Flagged" devices to move to the "Pending" window. They just stay there. I have tried deleting them, and then readding them as most are links I do want, but I can't seem to get them to be sent to the devices.
Thanks.

Herdfan,
I'll add the report request to my to-do list.
Concerning the "Flagged" links, this should only be caused by the following.
Poll Interval set to 0
Device Active flag is not set
Device Failed Match field is set
See if any of the above apply and let me know.
Dave.
