Mike,

D Level is Desired level for link level and local level. A Level is the Actual level. You cant change the A Level since it is read from the device. You can set the D Level to your desired level. PowerHome will recognize the difference between the two and then trigger the changes.

Event 03 is part of the four new communication statistics fields along with COMMCNT, ACKCNT, and NAKCNT. I now keep track of the number of communication attempts including the ACKS and NAKS and Event 03's returned.

Check out the new communication statistics graphs under the reports tab of the Insteon Explorer. The fewer event03's you have per device the better. 1 or 2 event03's per COMM is about average and is a sign of good communications. When you start to build an average of 4 or more event03's, then this is a sign that communications could definately be better. More than this and I would start to be concerned about the communications to this particular device.
