Hello,
I have am using Powerlinc Serial, and attempting to autodiscover all my Insteon Devices.
Initially I turned Downloaded App, Cleared PLC, set it to auto discover and set up linking/cancelled and moved on. When I was done, I turned off Autodiscover exited to explorer and pressed F5... nothing showed up.
I have attempted 4 or 5 more times, and gotten as many as three devices to appear, but no more. I have about 25.
Below is my latest log after doing an autodiscovery of 1 icon dimmer and 2 switchlinc 2 dimmers and 1 Keypad.
1 icon, 1 switchlinc and 1 keypad have been detected from this group all close to my PC.
Any help appreciated,
Below is my log.

Do you have the SignaLinc installed and configured to bridge the phases? Do you have any plugin modules that you can move around easily to test with? I suspect that you do not have good Insteon communication.

I do have 2 SignaLincs setup, and the rest of the keypads etc communicate. ie I turn all the lights in the Basement and Main floor off from the upstairs Keypad at Bedtime.
I do have several plugin modules I could move around, what kind of testing are you thinking?
I would agree I must have some communication issue.
I went back to the switches today and left them in linking mode for 20-30 seconds each and most of them were discovered.
Any ideas?

Now that they are discovered, can you control them from PH? Do you see any errors in SDM?

SDM is 1.1.79.226
I can control all the devices that show up in the status field, but I have one that shows up in the "Explorer" and "Group" windows but does not show a status, I think it might be because it is not in a Group?
I also have one icon, and one switchlinc that refuse to show up regardless of how long I leave them in linking mode.
For the Keypads, do I have to individually set every button into linking mode?
Thanks for your help,
Dave

If you are saying the device doesn't show up in the "device status"page, then that device probably has the wrong type. Try changing it to a type without (control) in the name.
Sounds like a communication issue, unless they are just dead.
No, you don't have to link each button, once the address is in the database, you can use all the buttons/groups.

Dave,
Definately sounds like a communication issue. However, it may just be limited to your PLC. Is the PLC plugged into a powerstrip or in close proximity to where your desktop computer is plugged in? Some users have reported drastic increases in communication reliability by simply relocating the outlet where the PLC is plugged in.
Since you don't seem to have any troubles with Insteon devices communicating with other Insteon devices, this may be the culprit.
Dave.
