I have had problems with Powerhome and am trying to clean up my system.
I have been using a 2814UB PowerLinc Controller. Any reason to switch to the 2414U Powerlinc Controller? Is there a difference other than the passthrough outlet?
Is PowerHome tested with both? Does it matter?

Lazyman,
I have not tested with the 2814UB (or know anyone who has), but my understanding is that internally, they are essentially the same. I wouldnt think that you would need to change.
That said, what problems are you having? Most problems I find seem to be with the PLC not being completely prepped. One big problem seems to be the wrong core application. Every PLC Ive encountered (or heard others encounter) does not ship with the latest TimerCore Application and this causes problems within PowerHome.
Let me know whats giving you trouble and possibly email me a copy of your SDM log and I should be able to help you work it out.
Dave.

You had helped me work through some issue before. I have not been using PowerHome for a few weeks so I do not have specific problems. I have an RMA going back to SmartHome and they will take back the 2814UB. For $20 I can upgrade to the 2414U. Just trying to figure out if there is a reason to do so.
Any chance SmartHome would give you an answer?
I think the 2414U is about $20 more.

Lazyman,
I'll post a message on the SmartHome Developers forum and see what the consensus is on the 2814UB for you.
Dave.

I am using the 2814UB and it all appears to work correctly.
I haven't tried the macros & triggers yet but I expect to this week. All the autodetection and direct control works perfectly.
Great Job Dave !!!!

Mark,
Welcome to PowerHome! Let me know if you have any problems or questions.
Lazyman,
I posted on the SmartHome Developers forum and as expected received absolutely no responses .
However, we've got at least two here so I think you should be good to go.
Dave.
