Looks like this program is built by programmers.....
That's good and bad. Good, because it probably works great.
Bad, because they expect everyone to know what they know. Case in point, no less than 22 files on the download page.
Tried following the instructions but can't get program to open on Win7 64bit machine.
At first, yesterday, I was getting 'wrong database' errors. Today, after the machine has been restarted a few times and I've tried to re-load (repair) the program, I'm getting "program can't start because libjutils.dll is missing"
Files downloaded and installed were:
PowerHome Runtime Environment installation file (phrt_1032.exe)
Followed by, PowerHome Executable version 1.03.4 installation file (phexe_1034.exe)
Any thoughts out there?
Thanks
Brett

Brett,
Understand what you mean by built by programmers...its worse than you can imagine .
You'll want to uninstall what you've installed so far as its ancient and is incompatible with your current OS. Its only on the download page for legacy support.
You want to install version 2.1.2 available from this forum post: http://www.power-home.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=2723&PN= 1.
Next, part way down the page on this post (same post actually, page 5) http://www.power-home.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=2723&PN= 1&TPN=5, you'll want to download and unzip the 2.1.4 upgrade on top of 2.1.2.
Make sure you install into the default directory of c:\powerhome. If you're planning on using Insteon and have the newer I2CS devices, download and unzip the I2CS patch available here: http://www.power-home.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=3126&PN= 1
Hope this helps,
Dave.

Thanks Dave,
Sounded promising, but no go.
Uninstalled all previous software.
Installed V2.1.2. During install I got "Can't start NTPort Library Driver" and install aborted.
Uninstalled and attempted again and it gave me the option to Repair, which meant it didn't really uninstall.
Program did not appear in Control Panel programs list, so I found and deleted the folder in C:
Same result.
Then I found and deleted additional Powerhome folder in C:\program files x86
Restarted machine.
Tried install, same error.
Tried running program after error and it did run, but I didn't go into it for testing.
Next downloaded and tried to install 2.1.4 over the top of it.
The update fails with a critical error #21 Bad runtime function reference at line 134 in open event of object genapp.
Thoughts?
Thanks
Brett

Dave,
Thanks for the private reply. I don't mind showing my dumbass-ness.
For anyone reading this in the future, the NTPort error does not matter on a 64bit machine, and the 2.1.4 update problem was because I was not unzipping the updated files directly into the c:\powerhome folder.
Dave, I'm up and running. I'm sure I'll be back with more questions. Thanks for the help.
