I'm doing this the rather cheeky way (asking on
here...rather than testing it out for myself).. but I
guess that's what forums are for right?
The webserver in powerhome sounds like a great option for
me, firstly so I can have access to controls from my
iPhone, and secondly so that I can purchase a few relatively cheap internet tablets, and use their web
browsers to control powerhome whilst I'm at home.. eg
Neatly docking them into kitchen cabinets etc.
Does anyone have any comments about this setup? Does the
webserver run slow, or have slightly clunky menus?
Any advice would be great....

The built-in web pages are not graphical, but, are functional. You can create pages in the Control Center, which can be viewed via browser.
If you want to get really fancy, you need to create your own web pages.

I got an android phone and two 7" android tablet plus the PC screen, and my experience tells me that you will need various web pages for the different rooms AND devices
For example, the kitchen tablet might need a link to your favorite recipies site, while your bedroom tablet might need link to your webcam network (for security)
All you will need is to start your various devices on different "home page" (easy from the URL)
You will also see that you need to use "large" buttons on your phone, while the tablet will be able to show more options, and the PC will have all the controls on the same page.
It quickly turn into a little nightmare when you have to work with devices sporting various display size. Your large 19" monitor and your phone will need diffent display. Take the time to draw your screen on paper if you dont want to create them 10 times in as much days. It's very tough to stay with a single design / pattern for all the devices. I had to drop my LCARS setup because it took too much place on the phone.
Start with the larger screen for width and height, and then go toward the smaller screen. The CC will force you to use the same W and H for all your devices, but you can leave large blank space when you work on the smaller screens.
Dont get fancy with nice backgrounds, get to the point, specially with the smaller screens. You will see that screen "real estate" is a real premium on those machines.
A funny thing I found is that with the large width, you can laterally swipe your page left/right, resulting in that Iphone side swipe effect, given that the page is twice the width of your display, but it only work if the page is twice, it makes the swipe stops on the right.

Thanks ever so much for your review... that really helps!
Sounds like it's going to be fun getting everything to
match properly, but should be worth it in the end.
I like 2 page width idea.. the swipe would make it easy
without extra page loads. I suppose it could work vertical
as well so you could have 4 screens on one page... hmmm
