I have a second PLM (serial) connected to my stargate controller that is sending out random broadcast commands:

Incoming Insteon received on Insteon DM controller INSTEON. From Address:[0E.DB.CD] To Address:[00.00.56] Flags:[203] Cmd1:[19] Cmd2:[0]. Decode: Group Broadcast. From: STARGATE PLM Group: 86, Off

I don't have any address 00.00.56 and am not using group 86 for anything (only 1 - 59 at the moment). The odd and annoying thing is that one of my outletlincs seems to respond to this (turns off) even though it is not linked for the group. Any ideas?

The Event Log message looks like a standard Group Broadcast message from the Stargate PLM. The Flags: [203] is the expected 0xC6 for a Group Broadcast. The To Address: of 00.00.56 is a Group number since the message type is a Group Broadcast. For a device to respond to this message it should have a Responder To link record with the Controller address of the Stargate PLM 0E.DB.CD. Not likely an Insteon device would react to a Group Broadcast message when it did not have a Responder to link record.

Everything says the Stargate is issuing a Group Off for Group 0x56.

Edit: are you sure you are not using Group 56. The 1-59 range may actually be taken as hex numbers so Group 56 is actually being used.

Ok - I misinterpreted the record. I do have a broadcast command so I can disable that and test the outletlinc.

Thanks!
