Hey Guys,

I found an intersting thing the other day that might be usefull for PH and users who want personal speech added to PH without having to install SAPI...

it is called texttowav.exe and can be found here:

http://www.brothersoft.com/texttowav-download-70323.html

just type select the voice you want to use, type the message and save to HD... there you are: a computervoice in a soundfile playable in any system!
copy to your PH-server with soundcard and ....

I know: it is nothing compared to ph_tts("...
but still....

thought this could come in handy

Peter

Just curious, but is there any reason NOT to use install/use the SAPI???? CPU load? ??

Well... the more is installed, the more load on the CPU
that is true.

Another thing is that you can have the soundfiles made on a PC with sapi and play it on a PC without SAPI

I use it e.g. not on my PH-server but on Microsoft Outlook to announce my personal mail and businessmail
