Hi Gang,
I have Vista SP2 with the Prolific PL2303 properly
installed and running on Port 5, connected to a CM11A
unit. This setup has been successfully running for years
with Girder. I decided to try PowerHome.
As soon as I run the PowerHome application, I get:
CRITICAL ERROR
Then it begins to open a never-ending series of popups
stating:
Error accessing external object property input at line
10 in oncomme event of object ole_comport of
uo_controller_cm11a.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Robert

Robert,
Vista sometimes gives PowerHome trouble especially when communicating to devices using the older Microsoft MSCOMM.OCX.
First thing I would do would be to reinstall PowerHome but make sure you install in directory c:\powerhome vs the default of c:\program files\powerhome. This one change takes care of a number of problems with PowerHome on Vista. Also make sure you install as administrator.
If this doesnt clean things up for you, let me know and we'll go to the next step.
Dave.

I'm getting the same error on Windows 7 (64-bit). The PLM is working correctly with HomeSeer on the same machine/same OS, so I'm sure the problem is within PowerHome.
I've tried the suggested solution... additionally, I've run PowerHome as Administrator in both XP and Vista compatibility modes without success in bypassing this error.
Suggestions?
Thanks, in advance.
