All,

Ive gone ahead and fixed the two critical issues with version 2.1, the Insteon Group Cleanup ACK and the CM11A problems.

This new version (2.1a) is now available on the download page. Also updated the Help file some more but still need to document the ph_runasuser function. Also included is a new PowerHome2 and Elk Guide created by NADLER (also available separately on the download page) detailing PowerHome's integration with the Elk. A big thank you goes out to him for this excellent addition to the documentation.

Standard upgrade procedures for 2.1a except no need to run the Database Upgrade Utility since the database did not change. Basically, rename the existing PowerHome directory to something like PowerHome_21. Install. Copy over the old pwrhome.db and pwrhome.ini files. Copy over any PSP or HTML pages as well as INI files in the plugins directory.

Let me know how it goes or if any other problems are encountered.

Thanks,

Dave.

Installed 2.1a. It corrected the repeat Group Cleanup Direct commands on my system. Thank you for the fast turnaround.

I am still running version 1.03.4.12

What do I do? Install 2.1 and then 2.1a or just install 2.1a and run the database upgrade util?

The readme file that came with 2.1a is the same as the readme file that came with 2.1. There were no database changes going from 2.1 to 2.1a. I believe you can go from 1.03.4.12 to 2.1a directly without having to install 2.1 first. The 2.1 readme file says you can go from 1.03.4.12 to 2.1 directly. Just remember to rename your original 1.03.4.12 install directory before installing 2.1a. Do not uninstall 1.03.4.12. You will have to run the database update utility to convert the 1.03.4.12 db to 2.1/2.1a db.

To make a long painful story short & for the benefit of others, I got my PowerHome 2.1 & 2414S working again tonight. The solution was to change my SDM from 235 to 308 by running the bat file.

Apparently I rolled back from 308 to 235 for reasons unknown when I moved from 1.03.4.11 to 1.03.4.12, but I didn't noticed, possibly because I was using a 2414U at the time. Soon after I upgraded to PH2, my 2414U died and I eventually got a spare 2414S running under PH2.1a, sort of. It worked OK with SDM and the Elk, but PH didn't like it.... it always failed to get a response to PH when it sent a "getlist". After dong a bunch of hardware swapping and testing, I finally got the idea to see if I was using the latest SDM, and I was not (anymore). Maybe this saves somebody some pain & anguish someday.

Edit: nevermind - it looks like the true root cause was an intermittent RJ connection on the serial PLC. After it appears that 308 locked up twice, I went back to 235, but with a rubber band holding the serial cable in the right position (for now).

well.. I upgraded to 2.1a and had almost a hartattack:

after I renamed the ID's in the timed events I got an error. A name was not uniquea and so I checked and renamed where needed. IMHO all ID's where unique. After I OK'ed it All timed events where gone!!!!

Strange....

I can't change the name for TTS anymore... it sticks with SAM as the default voice Both in PH and in Windows?

Each PH V2 release (2.0.0, 2.1 and 2.1a) I have installed came up with SDM 235 as the active version. I know this because it gives me a compile problem with some software from SimpleHomeNet every time I install a new PH release, until I run the bat file to change to 308. It appears that 308 added a parameter to the SDM NAK callback which was not there at 235. Does not bother PH I assume because the new parameter is not used, making PH run time okay with either version. Actually the parameter is not used in the SHN software either but the subroutine definition expects it to be there during compile. I seem to remember a comment from Dave long ago that he had better success with 235 which may explain why the PH releases come with 235 as the default.

The Device Status filters are not being applied to the web Device List.

CC editing is flaky. Playing around and PH has crashed several times.

Dave, will you be updating ph_devicebtn() to handle UPB?

I noticed that with verson 2.0 the ph_winampctrl function was changed. Is that why this doesn't work?

Code:
ph_winampctrl("playfile",0,"c:\playlist\christmas.m3u")

Am I wrong to think this should load a play a playlist?
