A couple of revisions ago Dave snuck in a new feature called "Device Control". Until yesterday I didn't know it existed and was wondering whether anyone else knew it was available. I think it's a great feature for newbies allowing them to get up and running quickly.

For those not familiar with Device Control -
It can be used for Timed Events, Triggers, Macros and in the Control Center.
It's an easy way to tell PH to do 1 thing without any programming (e.g. Turn a light on or off etc)
.

For example to use the Device Control feature for a Timed Event:
  1. Go to Timed Event (File>PowerHome Explorer>Timed Event)
  2. Insert a new line for a new Timed Event (Right click on blank space on screen and click Insert)
  3. Start filling in the blank line. For Action Type click on DEVICE CONTROL.
  4. For Action - Double Click and a popup screen will give you all the options you need to turn on/off a light.

You use Device Control the same way for Triggers. For Macros the only difference is you double click the Send Keys column to get the popup.

If you want to Dim/Brighten a light you have to add a value in the Level/Formula box near the bottom of the popup box. This box is grayed out unless you have chosen either the Absolute Bright or the Absolute Dim command.

Hope this helps someone who just started to use PH.
