I installed a W800RF32 module on powerhome, do I need to load a special driver provided by powerhome or somebody else to make it work, if so where can I obtain it.
When I do assign com port to my interface I can see the CM11 present on com1, the W800RF32 is hooked up to com2. If I go through the menu I don't see any mention of the W800RF32 anywhere. Being familiar with activehome, if I receive a code from the outside on the power line, I write a macro and use it as I wish, is it the same with the W800RF32.
I have used Rf32.exe to check both of my com ports with the w800rf32, communications is ok.

No driver that I can remember. Just add it as a controller (Setup, Controllers) and click Settings for the details.

Thanks TonyNo

The reason I asked this question is that the w800 doesn't show up into the controler's list.
I can see X10, IR and "other", In "other" I have "CPUXA/Ocelot and the K8000.
Is there one of those that is equivalent to the W800

so - since I've just given up on the Insteon Motion Sensor because it has a fixed 7min+ delay. Let me make sure i get this...

I can get a couple of Eagleeyes and set them to, say code A1 and A3.

I get a W800RF32 and connect it to the serial port on my Windows XP (SP2) PC.

I tell powerhome that i have the W800RF32.

I set my motion sensor events in PH to trigger on X-10 A1, A3.

And everything just works?
Thanks!

The only thing you might have to workout (I did not use motions, just door sensors) is that there is extended RF data which needs to be triggered on for events. the door sensors would transmit every X to "check in" with one extended data info, but would transmit other extended info if violated

You would trigger on X-10 RF In's.

Right, you get an X10 RF In with extended data from the door sensors, so a little more complicated than an "A1 ON". But still easy to handle. I have a WR800 and a few door sensors.

When a door opens or closes, you'll get an X-10 RF-In with the unit # and extended data of 132 for closed and 4 for open.

Here's what I did:

- Create a virtual X10 device for each door sensor. E.g. S1 is my front door.
- Create two triggers for each door sensor, one for closed, one for open. The sensor on my front door happens to be unit # 209, so when I get an X10 RF In of 209 + extended data 4, in the trigger I turn S1 ON. 209\132 turns S1 OFF

Now just use your virtual devices to see door status or for future triggers.

N.B. The sensor periodically transmits a CLOSED signal periodically when the door is closed.

I use the Door/Window sensors on my garage doors, coat closet doors, garage entry door and a rain gauge.

I use the motion detectors on walk-in closets and in the garage (to extend macro wait time).

Re: 7-Minute Delay...

Quote:
Jumper 4 – On-Only Mode
If you wish to disable the automatic countdown “Off”, mount jumper 4 on both pins and the Motion Sensor will only send “On”

Wouldn't this take care of it? Then just use a Wait or schedule a Timed Event to handle the Off.

Problem is this:

00: motion detected - ON received, PH turns lights on
03: PH turns lights off
04: motion occurs, but NOT detected (less then 7min)

Update! Looks like new units are 1 minute instead of 7+...
