When PH is running, in the right Insteon SDM log panel I get an eventraw5 showing in "red" and in the Pending Operations and the Completed Operations window, nothing is happening. the Insteon SDM log is scrolling along looking normal (but then what is normal?) except for the eventraw5 being "red".
The large log window only show "Start - 0%, and Complete" multiple times. No links can be established.
Any thoughts on what is causing it and how to fix it? Using version 11 and I have tried both SDMs with the same results.

I think I've seen that before. I believe that means that the PowerLinc (PL) is locked up. Close PH and the SDM, cycle power to the PL, and try again.

I tried that a number of times, including a factory reset of the PLC and still get the same. The PLC seems to be working since I can connect it to the Elk for lighting control and the lights do turn on and off with signals going through the PLC.

Any links that I try to create will not show verified, only "flagged create" and they just sit in the "pending operations" and nothing moves in that window.

I have had this happen as well. I got it to start responding properly by clearing out and restoring the PLC database.

When you close PH, sometimes you need to check the Task Manager to ensure that it actually closed.

Jim,
The "red" eventraw=05 is a NAK command. It's a communication issue (or the PLC database is not properly configured). As you've already indicated above, the PLC database can be configured by doing the "Clear PLC Database" and "Add ID's to PLC".
However, after getting so many NAK's, PowerHome will have flagged your devices as "Failed" and will no longer attempt to communicate with them. This is why your links are always "Flagged Create". To fix this, open the Insteon Explorer and go to the "Devices" tab. Hit the "Save/Refresh" button to retrieve the latest information and you'll probably see nearly every device with a red background in the "Clear Failed" column. Every device with a red background in this column has been flagged as "Failed" due to a COMM problem (too many NAK's). You can clear the failed flag by placing a check in the "Clear Failed" column of every device you wish to clear (or just click in the header of this column to select/deselect them all) and pressing the "Save/Refresh" button to save your changes. You'll then get your "Pending Operations" queue back again.
HTH,
Dave.

Everything seems to be working fine now. However, when I create a new link, the link remains "Flagged Create" for a long time. What is the proper sequence to create the link and is there a way to speed up the linking process so youi can go on to another link?

Do you have a high Polling Interval vaule set? Maybe change that to 10 in Insteon Explorer and see if that solves it.

The polling was already at 10. Is there any way to get the links directly to the network faster than waiting for the pending operations to complete?

Jim,
When creating links, make sure to save your changes. If you're seeing "Flagged Create", then you're already doing this. If the devices being linked are flagged as "Failed", then the link changes should appear in the "Pending Operations" window within the number of seconds that your "Poll Interval" is set to (typically 10).
Once the link operation moves from "Pending Operations" to "Completed Operations", the link operation is complete. Keep in mind that the "Links" tab (as well as the other tabs) do not auto-refresh and will continue to show links as "Flagged Create" until a refresh is done. You can refresh by clicking the "Refresh" text or by double-clicking the currently selected device.
To get the links processed as fast as possible, you can set your "Poll Interval" to 1 or even 0.1 if you want. This is typically what I do. I don't generally leave it at this value however since I don't want Status Poll operations to be flooding the network.
HTH,
Dave.
