This is probably a dumb question....
I am trying to read the actual Insteon device state (i.e. ON/OFF) of the 2457D2. I have a device installed and linked call "OFFICE"DESK_LAMP". I think should use ph_insteonwithret("OFFICE_DESK_LAMP",CMD1,CMD2) - but I do not know the values of CMD1 and CMD2. Where do I get more info on this ??

Kevin,
You are correct. If you want to read the status of a device (in real time), you would use the ph_insteonwithret function. It would look like this:
ph_insteonwithret("OFFICE_DESK_LAMP",istatus,0)
The "istatus" variable equates to 25 so you could also substitute the value 25 for istatus.
Be sure and read through the Insteon section of the PowerHome Help file (menu Help->About). 2.1b didnt really have much of a Help file but 2.2beta3-3
actually has quite a bit of information.
Dave.
