I installed the packages for TTS, and voice, then went to installing the PowerHome Runtime Env. I agreed to the license agreement, then got an 'Invalid command-line parameters. Unable to continue' error. You OK it, and you get Setup was not completed sucessfully. You OK that, and it says it has to reboot your computer to complete instillation. You reboot, and you get more errors, and the package does not install.

I'm using WinME with the latest updates, and nothing un-usual installed.... Any ideas on where I'm going wrong here? TIA

After reading thru the site again, I noticed ME is not on the supported OS list. Guess I'm hung there, however is XP Pro supported? Thx

Adam,

Ive had several people who have had problems with Windows Me which is why I didnt list it on the supported list. I do know others who have Me and have had no problems. Im not sure what the error is that you would be getting however. It would appear that the InstallShield packager is having a problem with Me even though it is supposed to support it. However, XP is supported and I the only known problems with XP is concerning the Microsoft SAPI 4.0a (the TTS and voice). XP comes with the Lernout and Hauspie TTS engine pre-installed. To use the Microsoft SAPI, you must uninstall the L&H TTS before installing the Microsoft TTS. Other than that, I know of no problems with PowerHome on XP.

Could you also post for me the exact text of the first error message? I might be able to do some research with InstallShield and find out what the problem is.

Dave.

This is odd; I went ahead and tried to reinstall, so I could write down the exact wording of the errors. I got the two errors at the start, and then it told me to reboot. I did, and it completed the install. I went thru and installed setupph1011.exe and I guess everything installed like it should. Figures as soon as I took the car to the mechanic, it would run right. LOL

Well assuming that it is working, I wont try and fix it.

Good Luck,

Dave.

I worked with it a little today, and all seemed well on the ME install. I will be installing XPPro tonite on a box, and I'll use your advice posted above to get the TTS to work. I'm really looking foward to trying out your product; I was looking for something that had a good web interface, so I could build webpages that could be displayed on touch displays to control devices within my house. Looks like I've found it!

Let me know if you have any further problems. I know the PSP web pages may seem a little intense at first, but if you're looking for fully customizable web pages for Home control, I think you'll be happy with what you can do.
