The dual band PLM is advertised as a standard PLM with Access Point function added. Should be no difference to PH.

A post on the Smarthome forum points out two differences with the dual band PLM. The first is that it cannot supply power to an ISY device which probably does not matter unless there are plans to use the dual band PLM with ISY at some point. The second is important in that the dual band PLM supports 1000+ links compared to the 2000+ links for a normal PLM. Has to be a large configuration for that to make a difference but it should be noted. This last point raises a question about the starting location of the link database. It cannot be 0FF8 for that only allows space for 417 links supported by the majority of Insteon devices. It could be 3FF8 as it is for the new PLMs supporting 2000+ links with space in the lower memory area being used by the Access Point function. If the link database starts at a third location the Types entry Mem Top column will have to be adjusted to reflect that.
