Guess I'll be a newbie forever. Finally got up to V.9 and now there is v.10.

Started using the new X10 command and coupled with ability to put meaningful string in X10 unit ID makes my macros almost readable. Now if we can get X10STAT and X10LEVEL to use ID they will be even more readable

Problem is; it is no longer straigt forward to address sevelal lights in the same room(unless I go back to x10 raw) and then send bright 50 to the housecode. Having the lights come up one at a time really looks bad I think that the Group Tab under X10 devices must be the answer but I can't figure out how to use it. My attempts at trying to find reference to it in the docs has been a miserable failure

Second problem: Where did the HC tab go? I've been screwing around (make that developing my automation environment) now since about 1996 and I'm getting quite a batch of stuff (19 motion sensors alone). Now that I have all these meaningful strings for unit ID the list is sorted by where my stuff is which is great until I want to add some more stuff. Over the years, I've used several different HC philosophies so the bottom line is I have stuff scattered all over the place and I would like to reorganize. Would be nice to be able to sort unit table by HC and Unit and then print it out.

I'm fairly happy with my program (I know it's good because it drives my wife nuts) except the response from my motion dectors is s. . . .l . . . o . . . w and I forgot how to time stuff. Response time from various RF remotes is prety good, even though some of these activate the same macros. I'm suspicious of disc access time when my code references global variables but presetting levels on virtual X10 units (which I think are in memory)and then using those to set my levels on the real ones didn't seem to help.

I use a W800RF32 on the input side and CM11a on outputs. Almost all of my motion triggers check a global {AWAY}=0 in the boolean field. For now, if I'm away I don't want to make it easy for the burgular to see where he's is going. In the future I intend to do stuff like turn on lights behind him and now that I have TTS working I can talk to him as well. I'll get an E-mail when the motion count gets to high or one of my door switches is tripped; then I'll call the cops and when they get there I'll send an E-mail from my cell phone that will open the garage doors and turn on all the lights - cool huh - guess I have too much time on my hands.

I'm running on a 1995 P200 (I guess that's like driving an 1895 car these days) and one of my suspicions is that I am filling the execution que (still don't know how to use imediate and post properly) as I walk around the house and so by the time I get to the master bedroom I have to wait wile all that stuff gets done.

I'm afraid this post is kinda long but I tried to make it a little entertaining and I hope you will forgive me for that. Any light that can be shed on these problems will be greatly appreciated.
