What type of information or how much information is sent via elkinsteon.exe to the XSP module? In other words, how much can I tweak my Insteon stuff before I need to inform the Elk of changes? Obviously I would need to inform the Elk whenever I add/change/remove a load controlling device, but does the Elk care about cross links, dim levels or group (scene) members? I am using 2 2414 modules, so I don't need to move them back & forth.

Wayne,
Tweak to your hearts content. The Elk and the M1XSP are basically totally unaware of Insteon links. The only information that is really sent is the Insteon device ID's themselves that the Elk then equates to a number.
Sooooo, as long as you don't remove or add Insteon devices, you don't need to rerun the util.
HTH,
Dave.

Dave--
I am experimenting with the Elk/Insteon utility with some success. My ID's seem to have gone across to the Elk but there are no descriptions. Is that expected behavior?

Dave told me that it was. At this stage, PH is ONLY talking to the XSP, not the main controller, so it has no ability to add names. Once/if PH works more directly with ElkRP, then it would be possible.
