Hi-

I've noticed that there is quite a bit of traffic in the smarthome device manager window, even with all of the links updated in powerhome, and no other events are going on in Powerhome. Is this normal?

Thanks!
Matt

Matt,

Yes...perfectly normal if background status checking is turned on. The default is every 15 seconds and PowerHome will scan an Insteon device for it's status and to see if any database changes have occurred since it's last status check.

Even if the link database is updated and you make a change either manually or through PowerHome, the database delta will be different and PowerHome will requery all of the database records and doublecheck that everything is OK.

If you want to reduce this traffic, then you would turn off the background status check, background local level scan, and background database scan.

Hope this helps,

Dave.
