I guess I am doing something wrong....please help (trying to learn IR codes).
I have just connected up my 56K USB-UIRT IR transciever to PH. I have re-started PH and have verified that I can see the controller in the "Help-About-Controller" tab. I have set up one device under the IR area; it has about 40 buttons.
When I try to learn any of the buttons, the USBIRT "times out", it can't see the IR signal when it is in learning mode. If I press the remote when the USBIRT is not in learning mode, I do see it flash.
What learning frequecey should I be using? Where would I find this frequency?

Nevermind...I wasn't positioning my remote close enough to the USBIRT (about 1" away works).

Smarty,
Also, make sure that you have the -4 patch. The two things that this patch corrects are Insteon issues and improved support for the USB-Uirt.
You are correct though...you need to pretty close for IR code learning. With the Uirt, just press and hold until PowerHome says it's been learned because it's actually learning two different codes. First the actual raw IR code and then next, the long distance code.
Dave.
