Dave--
I have been having pretty good success using PowerHome with a number of Insteon devices in my house. However, last night some of my timed events did not occur, and manually initiating macros containing Insteon commands did not work. Insteon macros started responding appropriately after exiting PowerHome and restarting.
I am now noticing several "Insteon In" entries in my log file stating "unmapped command" starting several minutes after last night's restart. They seem to be occurring with several different devices. I am not seeing them in the log prior to last night.
Any clues as to what those might be from?
Thanks!
Mike

I see a couple of them in my log too. The log indicates they are coming from switches that I really doubt was the actual sender.

Mike,
Usually the "unmapped command" is a "peek" command being performed to retrieve the "local" On level. Unmapped just means that I didnt program an English equivalent into PowerHome and it's a perfectly legitimate Insteon command.
I tried to program all the "background" traffic out of the PowerHome eventlog but missed the local level check.
Concerning your problem...it sounds as if the execution queue was hung up in PowerHome. Do you have the -4 patch? There was a problem discovered in the 1.03.4.7 beta where an unanswered Insteon command could result in the execution queue becoming hung. The -4 patch corrects this problem.
Wayne,
Let me know why you don't believe the commands are coming from the particular sender. What should be in the PowerHome eventlog is more or less what is in the SDM log. I should be able to help you track it down and either correct PowerHome if it's wrong or notify SmartHome if theyve got a problem .

Dave,
I wasn't certain, but have a strong suspicion. The reason is that one of the switches that supposedly sent the unmapped command was installed in a somewhat inconvenient location strictly for load control. 99.9% of the control of that load will be done via linking, rather than physical action of the switch. Therefore is is unlikely that somebody used that switch to send a command at that time of day. I will research it some more and see if it happens again.

Wayne,
Ok, that makes sense. All of the local switching commands are mapped into PowerHome (on, off, faston, fastoff, dim, bright, start local change, stop local change). The peek command however would not be a local command and is probably the result of trying to sense the local level or similar and would be a PowerHome background processing task.
Let me know if you find out any other information.
Dave.

Dave--
Not sure if I have the -4 patch or not. How do I now (help|about just shows 1.03.4.7).
All I see in the download area is the 1.03.4.7 beta install. Is that is?
Thanks,
Mike

Mike,
The Help->About will not tell you if you're got the patch or not. The only way to tell is to check the date on the phctlrs.pbd file in the PowerHome directory. The -4 patch version date should be 03/20/2006 as opposed to 03/04/2006. If you're not sure, you can always just apply the patch again.

I don't have the patch. I'll give that a try.
Thanks!
