I checked out some info on the CM11A. It requires a tranceiver sold separately. If you have this plugged in and still not working, Move the tranceiver closer or even on the same phase of the house. I had issues with the tranceiver and the different phases. Some X-10 equiptment would only work if my heater or AC were running.

Junkie,

As Don pointed out, you must have an RF transceiver module. Either a TM751 or an RR501. Make sure that they are set to the same housecode you wish to control. While a CM17A can send to any housecode, the transceiver module can only act upon the housecode that it is set to.

Since you are having a problem with the firecracker software as well, your serial port may not be compatible. The CM17A is not communicated with in a normal serial fashion (placing bits on the data line) and is instead controlled by twiddling the CTS and RTS lines. If you are using a USB to serial adaptor or an RS-232 port in a notebook, there may be compatibility issues.

Let us know,

Dave.
