Hi - So I was thinking - I have some events that I want to execute, or not, based on a rough feel of outside temperature. I know it's possible to write code to pick the current temperature off the Internet and write it to a file, and I -think- it's possible for PH to read a variable from a file. Before I re-invent the wheel, does anyone have anything like this working - or have any pointers?

I'm not doing anything like this now, but, you could easily add a macro with a Case function looking at temperature, or, apparent temperature. Then, just add a Timed Event to call it occasionally.

actually, I figured it out - thanks though.
(perl + ph_readfile)
took like 15 minutes total.
POWERHOME RULES!
(so the electric heater in my laundry room turns on on laundry day, but only on COLD laundry days :-) )
