I have installed the software as mentioned in the
quickstart guide but seem to come to the following dialog:

It would appear that I have missed a step or something
didn't install properly. Your guidance is appreciated.

Welcome to PowerHome.. Did you take the defaults when you installed? If so then some program maybe using ODBC such as Quickbooks. If that is the case close the program and bring up PH by itself. If you are running Vista or Win7 run as Administrator and in Compatibility Mode and see if that fixes it.
