I assume that the e-mail must remain on the server? I usually keep my e-mail client running, and, it empties the server as it gets messages. Would I need to turn on "leave copy of messages on server" to get this to work?

Thanks!

Tony,

Not actually.  What the process email functions will do is connect to your default MAPI client (Outlook Express, etc), and force it to retrieve mail from your server.  It will then scan the subjects of any new email received and process any intended for PowerHome and then optionally delete them from your mail client.  It should not matter if a copy of the message is left on the server or not since what is actually happening is that the messages go from the server to the client and then from the client to PowerHome.

Now, it sounds as if the email client is always running and set to periodically check for new email every X minutes.  I havent played with PowerHome in this mode yet so I don't know if it will process the email if the client has already received it.  I know that you can leave the email client open, don't have it automatically check for email, and then have PowerHome set to do the periodic checking using the ph_processemail function.

If you get a chance, do you think you could run some tests and let me know what happens if the email client has already received the email but it is unread?

Dave.

OK, thanks Dave. I'll test it.

Confirmed: It still works if the email client has already received the email but it is unread.

Thanks for testing for me,

Dave.

Where does one download the latest beta? I still see 1.02.2.2 as the version listed in the beta section.

Interesting... Now that PH is triggering my e-mail checks, I never hear the WAV for new mail, and, I never get the new mail icon in my system tray!

I'm using OE 6.

Not that I care, but, I figured I'd just post the info.
