I cannot find anywhere (searching the forums or the software) how to remove / delete a X10 ir sensor and a PLM controller. Please advise.

I assume you are referring to controllers. That being the case go to Setup-Controllers and right click on the one you want to delete.

For X10, using the PowerHome Explorer, go to Devices, X10, Units. Right click on the device you want to delete and select Delete.
For Insteon, go to the Insteon Explorer, Devices tab. You will see Delete buttons next to each device.
