i've got a 2476DH 1000W switchlink dimmer that controls some tech kable lighting in my kitchen. this works fine. i've set the ramp rate for it and that's worked too. i have not linked this switch to anything.
i also have a 2876S icon relay and a button on a kpl that the 2476DH seems to be linked to somehow. turning either of those switches on or off causes the tech lighting to turn on or off with a very long ramp rate.
i've searched through my PH setup looking for links but i don't find any. i have not set up any groups.
i really feel stupid for asking, but any ideas where i can look to resolve this? is this a group issue?
i'm running PH 2.1b, but this was happening with version 1.x too.
thanks!

An Insteon switch normally only responds to messages from devices it has been linked with. If you are happy with the links PH is showing in the Links tab, select each of the three devices mentioned one at a time and click on Rebuild for each device. This causes PH to rebuild the link database in each device that matches the links shown in the Links tab. Any unwanted link definitions will be removed in the process.
If you want to diagnose the problem first, press the ON paddle on the ICON relay and watch the Insteon Raw Log for the messages that are issued. Insteon devices use Insteon Group commands for device to device control.
The solution is the same regardless of whether you actually understand which device, or maybe both, have unwanted links. A Group command sequence starts out with a Group Broadcast command which is received by every device on the network. If the SwitchLinc has a responder link that matches the ICON switch address, it will respond even if the ICON switch does not contain a controller record for the SwitchLink. If the ICON Switch has a controller link for the SwitchLinc, you will see a Group Cleanup Direct command issued by the ICON switch after it issues the Group Broadcast.
I guess it is also possible that the devices you mentioned have an X-10 device assigned and is causing a similar situation although I did not think the slow ramp rate would be respected in this situation.

thanks, lee.
i worked through your suggestions, but no joy. finally i just did a hard reset to the 2476DH and that seems to have fixed the issue. odd. i've never had this problem before.
i appreciate the help.
