Hi - I suspect this is easy to do in PH, but not sure how.
I have 2 Switchlincs, each of which directly controls 1/2 of my outdoor rear lights. I'd like this to happen:
1) when either switchlinc is turned on, both sets of lights go on
2) when either switchlinc is turned off, both sets of lights go off
thanks!

So, why not use triggers to fire the lights either way?

I guess it's treating a Switchlinc like it's a KPL? Both as a control source and sink? Wasn't sure I could do that with a Switchlinc.
is that what you're suggesting?

I use the SwitchLinc that way. When an On or Off comes in it fires a trigger that executes a macro then does what I want with the lights.

Jeff,
Is there a reason you don't want to just cross link the switches? Is there something else you want PH to do when a switch is turned on or off?
You don't need PH to turn both groups of lights on and off. But I might be missing something....

I tend to like to do everything through powerhome so that it's logged and I can control it from the PC - never looked into cross-linking. Does that require doing the tap-tap stuff 8-}

I reread you question. I think you are asking HOW to do this from PH.
From the Insteon Explorer window of PH click on the LINKS tab. From the Insteon Device drop down list find one of the two switchlincs then from the ID list drag the OTHER switchlinc to the Controller window and then to the Responder window and press save. The two switchlinc should then be both linked together.
Hope this answered your question.

Noel, I use linking to support a system failure so that I still have some control over the scenes but my primary control is through PH macros. The reason being I have somewhat of a noisy environment. Jeff and I both use an error recovery mythology although we implement it differently and basically get the same results.

Well, beachbum has a point. If there's a way to do it through macros, then it's logged and re-tried...

Flipping either one on - turns both on. Flipping either one off - turns both off. If they have onboard lights they also go on or off( or up or down). Howerver the switch you actually touched on goes to its local level at its local ramp rate. The other switch goes to its remote level at its remote ramp rate. This can be adjusted in PH so they both do the same thing, if that is what you want. (Adjust the Dlevel and Drate - D stands for "Desired" as opposed to "A" for actual)on the Links tab.
