I think I am missing something very elemental.

I installed three new switches and manually linked them to eachother. I can click on the various buttons and all works as expected.

I put PowerHome's Insteon Explorer in AutoDiscovery mode, linked the devices, PowerHome found them and I named them, all no problem.

Then I went to the Links tab, selected the device in question, and no links show. Now I know these links are there, since they work. So the only way I could figure out to get the links to show was to let PH scan the entire device list.

What am I missing? How do I get PH to scan the links in one, or a couple of devices? (In HouseLinc, this was done by right-clicking a device and letting it Rediscover, is there a similar way to do this in PH)?

Niels.

OK, so I am dense...

In case this helps someone else:
- Open Insteon explorer
- Go to Devices tab
- In the Scan DB collumn check all devices you want to get links for (Or click the top of the colum to select or unselect all)
- Click Save/Refresh
- Be patient :)

If you want the scan to go faster, looks like you can set the poll interval very aggressively (I used 0.1)

Ha!

Niels, thanks. I have been wondering for several years
how to recover correct links from a device when I knew it
was "better info" than the PH database.

I finally did a search in the forum for "scan db" and
found your entry.

Thanks. I have never been really sure what "scan db" in
the Devices Tab really did!

I applaud Forum members that post back to their question
when they find an answer.

You get a (rather belated) atta boy!
