Running PowerHome v1.03.4.11
DB version 1.03.9.5

Just noticed that I have double entries in my Insteon Device Type list.

Is this a problem? Is it a known issue?

Thanks!

Pretty sure that is by design. You might have a switch connected to a load, and another switch acting as a "control" only. To cover all possible situations, you need duplicates for all device types.

Thanks for the reply.

I think I need clarification... I do have some devices controlling a load, and others for control only - but I don't understand why I would need to choose different Device Types for one or the other.

Could you elaborate?

Thanks!

Thanks for the link!

Just to clarify, my database not only has (Control Only) devices, but exact duplicates of everything.

For example, I have:

2476D - SwitchLinc Dimmer 600 watt
2476D - SwitchLinc Dimmer 600 watt
2476D - SwitchLinc Dimmer 600 watt (Control Only)
2476D - SwitchLinc Dimmer 600 watt (Control Only)

Is this normal?

Hmmm....

I DON'T have duplicates like that.

Sorry to be of no help. Maybe Dave will chime in soon.

I think I had the same thing after upgrading. I just deleted the dupes and haven't had any issues since.

Dupes here, too, but not for every device.

Is it OK to simply go in and delete them?

It appears that in either the .11 or .10 database upgrade utility that I inadvertantly created duplicate entries while trying to insure that the Insteon types table had all of the latest Insteon devices.

As such, the dupes don't hurt anything and can be safely deleted. Open the Insteon Explorer and click on the "Types" tab. Delete the duplicate entries but make sure and delete the duplicate entry that is further down the list. They'll be sorted to appear right next to each other but if row 1 and row 2 are identical, delete row 2. Press the Save/Refresh button and then go to the "Devices" tab. Click on the Save/Refresh button and make sure that all of your Insteon devices still show a valid Insteon Type. Fix any that dont and press Save/Refresh.

Dave.
