Frank,
Unfortunately, PLM support did not make this version. Ive only just started at working with this device.
However, it is one of the tops on the priority list and should be available soon.
Dave.

one thing I've constantly heard from people working with the PLM is that eliminates the stupid/quirky/problematic SDM

Dave -
Just a request.
I'd love the ability to at least be able to save/delete links and groups to the PLM.
Is it possible that functionality might be available sometime soon?
Thanks!

Dave,
After reading more and more about the PLM and how it fixes a lot of SDM issues (becasue it doesn't use the SDM), can you give any time frame as to when PH will have support for it? Don't worry, we'll add the "Dave factor" to the date you provide!
Thanks!

I agree. That "quirky" SDM is the bane of many PH users existence. :D
Might want to make that the "Dave Factor^2".

Oh, ha ha ha...you guys are really funny . Dave Factor ^ 2.
Ive started on the PLM support a couple of times, but it seems like other things keep jumping up ahead.
After .12 is out, I'll be spending some time with Noel on the manual. Once that is moving along, I'll start up again. My best guess estimate (knowing how slow I am) would probably be a couple of months (Im trying to already introduce the "Dave Factor" ). If I had to remove the Dave Factor, I'd say 3 - 4 weeks .
HTH,
Dave.

Can't wait for PLM support. Add me to your list of people who would love to see it (if I'm not on that list already).

I too, have just about had it with the SDM. I'll be ordering a PLM as soon as PowerHome support arrives. Thanks for all of your hard work, Dave!

I don't know what Dave did but I have not had a hang or failure since the latest release. But I echo your thoughts I will order PLM when PH support is there...

You know, now that you mention it, I've had no SDM problems either!

Hmmm. Maybe I'd better do a little more digging. My PLC becomes unresponsive after about 2 days. I can't just restart powerhome or the SDM, I have to physically unplug the PLC and plug it back it in to get it operational again. I guess I assumed this was 'normal'. Now I guess I'll look into the problem some more. Thanks guys!

CRISX, I had that same problem originally and sent the PLC back. Since then and before the latest release the problems like that only occurred a couple of times although I had other problems that R12 seem to have fixed.

I know what you guys mean and I feel your pain. Even though .12 is definately improved in keeping the SDM running, it still cant get rid of the creeping memory leak that it has.
Im hoping to have PLM support in the next beta as well as several other controllers. But...it will take a little bit to get this all in. It should be worth it though.
Dave.

Is there a way to programmatically restart the PLC? I was thinking of setting up a macro to do it once a day or once a week. I figure restarting it under "controlled" conditions when it is probably already running would be better than waiting for it to freeze up.
v .12 really helps a lot, I've noticed -- but I'm not sure if the problem is with the SDM and communications with the PLC, or the PLC itself.

The closest thing to it, I'm familiar with, is ph_reinitialize() which will basically reset everything. Have not had to do this since I’ve gone to release 12.

ph_reinitialize() just restarts PH and the SDM doesn't it? It doesn't do anything with the PLC, does it?

Hey Dave -
Any ETA on PLM support? I'm dying for it over here. :)
Also, are you going to make it to EHX?

Before everyone thinks the PLM is the answer to all Insteon problems, I can tell you that several folks on the HomeSeer site are unhappy with it. The thing has an incredible tendecy to lock up under certain conditions, such as anytime a device goes bad and it can't communicate with it.
