Does it make sense to find a good place to pause Insteon software development within PH and focus on integrating something just as valuable (IMHO) and more stable (such as Elk integration)?

I just read where Insteon released a couple of what sounded like major items onto the developers (last week). I would think it is kinda hard to write code when Smarthome keeps changing the rules.

Just my two cents....

Hello everyone. Let me start by saying I have been reading and watching this forum for months and I am incredibly impressed by the support from Dave and the community. Just by searching the messageboard, I have found answers to almost all of my questions.

INSTEON support was the major reason why I purchased PowerHome. Despite startup issues and delays, it sure looks to me like Insteon is going to become the dominant protocol. I am eagerly waiting for the next PH update - hopefully more triggers, a redesigned insteon UI, etc. While it does sound like there are changes coming to Insteon, it looks like in the long run these changes will only strengthen Insteon and make it more useful. I'm counting on PowerHome to keep up with the changes and maintain its spot as the HA software with the best insteon support.

That being said, I will be looking closely at the ELK in the next 18 months. In short, I want it all!

I also bought power-home for Insteon and would hate to see Insteon dev slow down.

What I would like most:
Better Insteon error handling (such as missing device hangs scan).
Better Insteon KeypadLinc control.
Better UI for looking at groups.
Faster Insteon Link management if new devices support extended commends.
More Insteon Info if it can be done (peek of X10 addresses, peek of local ramp rates, etc.)
More Insteon control if it can be done (setting of X10 addresses, setting of local level and ramprate -- even if we have to go press the set button to lock the values).

Future hardware after Insteon that I have interest in are: Global Cache for IR, relays, and sensors and also Elk but they are down my list from having the Insteon work great.

Guys,
Yeah, that is what got me to PowerHome also, but, please read the following LINK.

Lighting is only one part of HA. I am starting to think that Insteon is NOT the right way to go, at least not until they really get their #### straight.
