I heard a rumour that SmartHome will be doing a firmware update on all of their products to fix extended messaging. Anybody know when these products will hit the street? Dave- can you tell us what features this might enable in PowerHome?

Mike,

Extended messages will allow for greatly increased link setup and discovery times. It won't allow for any additional features unfortunately. We'll still have the same problems (such as device reset only implemented in KPL's and not other devices).

When/If they get extended messages fixed (it's supposedly working in the 2.12 and newer PLC's...nothing else though), I'll update PowerHome to use this method for all linking operations (of course the current method will remain as well to support non-extended message devices).
