"Translates X10 to INSTEON and vice versa"
Will powerhome have this?
Is there any way to use x10 remote to control insteon lighting, with out change insteon to x10 mode?

Thank you

Welcome!

I think what is meant is that you can create triggers that fire on specific X10 or Insteon commands to control Insteon or X10 devices.

I use X10 Palm Pads to control everything, which is a mix of X10 and Insteon.

I use an X-10 IR controller to control Insteon lights. PowereHome does the translation... The lights do not have X-10 addresses.

Thank's for the help.

what hardware do I need for x10 IR and Palm pads to trigger PowerHome?
Is it possible to have this upload to Powerlinc? So I don't need to have pc stay on.

Thank you!

You won't be able to upload info to the PowerLinc. PowerHome is required to be running in order for any translation or recognition of RF or IR to take place.

For RF recognition, I would highly recommend the W800RF32A controller. This unit has an external antenna connection and will receive all X10 housecodes as well as X10 security codes. It will also keep X10 signals off of the powerline and potentially remove interence with Insteon PLC signals. This works very well and is extremely fast.

For IR recognition, I would recommend either the RedRat3 or the USB-Uirt devices. Both of these devices have not only the ability to "send" IR codes but is also able to respond (trigger) on incoming codes. You may also want to consider the Ocelot (has IR send/receive capability) as it also is expandable to handle digital I/O and Analog inputs.

Dave.
