I am just starting to program my IR stuff. I wanted to know if there are any problems and hurdles to doing this.. I have found that sometimes my usb-uirt does not see the remote so Ive had to reprogram twice.. I thought I remember seeing a place to download the remote codes but cant find it.. I looked at RemoteCentral but got lost on their site... it seems that they are for the higher end and type universal remotes. But I couldnt find any OEM code section.

Im not sure if I worded my question correctly... is there a place where I can dlwnload the IR codes? If I go to a list and look up say the mfg. and model it has a list of the IR codes that work?

Oh! Remote Central! You would find a Pronto CCF that applies, then get the Pronto code(s) out of it. Of course, you would need to download and install an editor...

I know where to find JP1 codes, but still need to find a way to convert those to Pronto format.

If someone knows something about this, please speak up!

Todd,

You were right...Remote Central is the place. Like Tony said, you'll need to download a Pronto file that contains the codes you're interested in. You'll also want to download a Pronto editor (they have them in the download section of Remote Central including several good freeware ones) to view the file. With the editor, you'll be able to get out the raw pronto codes that interest you.

Dave.
