I just received an IRLinc (2411R) last week, and finally started to play with it. I'm trying to link it to a group, but to test it, I started with a single device. If I set a switchlinc as a responder, I can control it with remote with no issues. However, it appears to do nothing when I set the PLC as the responder (of a known-good group that I can control otherwise).
Does anybody have any suggestions on what the issue may be?

Do you see an Insteon Group message from the IRLinc to the PLC in the Insteon Raw Log. If yes, how is the Trigger coded that you are expecting to react to the IRLInc Group command. If no, how did you link the IRLinc to the PLC.

Dumb question... I try to write the raw log to a file, and it says it can't open filename "". Where the heck do you set the file name?
That said, it appears to be showing up in the log; I don't see anything in red, but I can't cut & paste until I figure out how to send the log to a file...
Thanks!

Go to Setup-Controllers select your controller then Settings. There you will see the Echo Log File. Create a path then ReInit.

The fully qualified path/file name is under Powerhome Explorer Setup/Controllers/Settings Echo Log File:. I believe you need to reinit after saving this change to be effective. I use c:\temp\phlog.txt as my file definition. Of course it is system specific.
EDIT: if the Group message from the IRLinc is appearing the Raw Log, do you see the Trigger check in the Event Log.
EDIT2: thanks Pete. You still have the fastest fingers on the forum.

No, the trigger does not appear in the event log.

This is what I did:
First, I turned on discovery to find the address of the
IRLinc. The device was added to the database, and then I
went to the Links tab. I opened the IRLinc, added the
PLC as a responder (with the appropriate group number,
button number, etc.). The group that I want to execute
already exists, and triggers properly from other
controllers.
I also tried linking a SwitchLinc to the IRLinc when I
had issues with the PLC not responding, and that worked
just fine.

Should just be a matter of comparing the Group message sent by the IRLinc to Powerhome against the Trigger definition. Post the IRLinc Group message from the Insteon Raw Log and the Trigger definition.

Ah... got it.
Like always, some stupid little thing (like the trigger being wrong) kept it from working. All of about three minutes to get it working.
Thanks, Lee and Pete.
