Hi , I am a newbe to automation, i have pentium5 3 gHtz ,2 gb RAM,4 serial port 4,usb port PC with Bsnl Broad band 256kb speed internet connecion in INDIA, i am Planning to buy 220 v 50 htz X10 pc interphase & modules, my home is 10000 sq feet area. i am trini active Home pro, now usng POWER HOME trial software, kindly suggest me what to Buy according to my need (1) X10 ,or (2)Insteon, Or (3) Z-Wave,can i use PDA & web viewing in POWER HOME software. by K_vel

You cannot use Insteon. The devices are designed for 60 Hertz only.

Than q Lee G, so i can go for 220 v X10 devices. can you tell me the advantages of PH over Active Home Pro. can i use usb pc x10 interface CM15Pro with PH.

X10 installed in a 10,000 sq. foot house will be somewhat of a challenge due to the length of the runs. I’m not familiar with X10 running over 220 but the crossover signal should remain the same. It appears the CM15Pro is a Marmitek built controller for use only with Active Home Pro therefore PH does not support it. If you can find a 220 controller that is supported by PH then I would use PH because of its almost unlimited possibilities of programming. Otherwise Active Home Pro would be a good alternative. Getting use to the ease of programming, in my opinion, would be easier with Active Home Pro.
