Hi All,
I have a fairly old version of PH running (1.03.4.1 - DB 1.03.5) which I am trying to transfer to a new machine.
I had the old 1.03.4.1 installer which I ran, copied over the DB which all worked fine, however, no matter what I do, I keep getting the can't find PHRR3.OCX, please install/register error. Registering the phrr3.ocx doesn't help either.
I have tried numerous installs/re-installs of the RR3 SDK and libraries but nothing seems to work. The only thing that has worked is to install the latest version of PH, however, I seem unable to upgrade the old database to work with this.
Any ideas how I can get this working? I have spent hours on this!
Many thanks
Phil

Did you upgrade to 1.03.4.7 before upgrading to 2.0.0. The readme file indicates an upgrade to 1.03.4.7 is necessary first. From there run DB update PHUPG10396.EXE to get DB to 1.03.9.6 first. Then run the PHUPG.EXE to get to DB 2.0.0. Don't depend on this post as the correct sequence. Go to the readme for 2.0.0 to be sure I have not missed something else.

Phil,
Definately try to update to 2.0.0 if you can. if your DB version is 1.03.5 then you're definately on an old version.
I believe the upgrade path is to first uninstall beta 2.0.0. Download and install (following the install instructions) the ph10344full.exe which should contain the database upgrade utility to bring your database from 1.03.5 to 1.03.9.1. Then install beta 2.0.0 and run the phupg10396.exe. Follow this with phupg.exe and you should be up to date.
Let me know if this doesnt work for you and I'll figure out whats necessary to get you up to version 2.0.0.
Dave.

Phil,
Belay that last bit of advice...it wont work. I went back in the way-back machine and found out how old your database really is. There isnt (wasnt) a clear upgrade path for that. So Ive taken all the necessary upgrade utilities, recompiled and modified them to work with the latest PowerHome runtimes and zipped them up here: http://power-home.com/download/phupg_all.zip.
You MUST have already installed the latest beta version 2.0.0 in order to use these new updated upgrade files. Once you've installed beta 2.0.0, just unzip the zip file placing all of the EXE's in the PowerHome directory and all of the .DB's in the database directory. Start running the upgrade files in sequence starting as far back as necessary. This will allow you to upgrade from as far back as database version 0.0.5 (about 9 years ago). To determine how far back you need to go, look at your database version (1.03.5) in your case and just run the upgrade exe immediately above your version (in your case, you would start with upgrade exe PHUPG1037.EXE).
Sorry for the previous bad information and hope this helps you and others in upgrading from previous PH versions.
Dave.

Thanks Dave,
This is what I had experienced. I managed to upgrade to the point I was at, but couldn't seem to get it any further. I'll have a go at this at the weekend.
Many thanks
Phil

Hi Dave,
Have managed to get the DB converted and up and running with the latest version, however, a few issues have come to light.
Firstly all my transparent buttons now have a border around them but I think I can get around this by changing them to a graphic button with no image ref.
More worryingly though, some of my formulas no longer work. Namely, ph_setccbtnbcolor and ph_setccbtntext
Are there alternatives to these functions?
Haven't got round to testing the RR3 as yet!
Many thanks
Phil
