Hi all,

I have PH setup to observe Daylight Saving Time in the Setup/Sun setting. But, it's still showing sunset to be at 18:22 when it should now be 17:22. I tested this in multiedit by running ph_getsuntime(today(),2).

I've deselected the option and reinitialized PH, and the correct time is returned as expected, so it looks like PH hadn't realized the time change. Just out of curiosity, any reason PH doesn't use Windows as the time beacon?

Thx!
Brian

Brian,

It's a bug! I went back and checked the functions and Im a day off (I used <= instead of just <, dohh!!). I thought I had this completely taken care of and couldnt figure out why I missed it but now I know...PowerHome has ALWAYS been a day off on the end of daylight savings time. Shame on everyone for letting me live in ignorance for this long .

Ive gone ahead and corrected the code for all functions so it'll be fixed for next year. If you calculate the time for tomorrow, you should see that it will indeed be correct.

Concerning why PowerHome doesnt use the Windows value...is primarily because PowerHome can calculate the sun times for days in advance. There was no way in Windows to tell (that I knew of) to determine if daylight savings time was in effect for a given day in advance.

Hope this helps,

Dave.

Ah cool! Well, being off for one day really isn't a big deal at all for me. But thx for checking into it!
