I have a keypadlinc controlling a switchlinc. Everything seems to work fine.

I'm sure I read something about this somewhere, but I cant remember where.
When i use powerhome to change the status of the switchlinc, the light on the keypadlinc does not change how can i fix this?

Thanks,
-Allan

Did you cross link both devices? Meaning the KPL needs to be linked to the SL, and the SL needs to be linked to the KPL.

when you use powerhome, or any software, to change a device, NO other linked devices will be updated. This is by design. If you want powerhome to update the linked device as well, you need to include the devices in a group on your PCL and have powerhome control that group. This is what I do for several various groups.

I'm using groups now. But how do i hide all these pointless groups from my Device status screen?
I've tryed setting filter values, but they dont appear to save. I've also tryed the filter "type not like 'Inst Grp'" but it says it's invalid.

Any ideas?

I believe if you don't NAME your groups and just use the numbers, they don't show on the status screen. The only ones on mine that show up are the few I have named.
Filter values should save, I use them for some of my secondary switches to keep them from showing up. However, I seem to remember that if I went back in and changed one, they all showed up again. Not sure though. For now, if you don't want them showing up and don't need the handy reference of naming them, you could go that route.

Allan,

You had the right idea, just the wrong syntax. To keep the Insteon groups from showing in the Device Status screen, set the filter to "type <> 6" without the quotes. This will keep the Insteon groups from showing.

For further reference, the various types are:

0 - X10
1 - Digital Input
2 - Digital Output
3 - Analog Input
4 - Analog Output
5 - Insteon
6 - Insteon Group
7 - Elk Input
8 - Temperature (next version)

You can also use the "Filter" column on most of the individual Device entries for the finest control (this is the purpose of this field). The filter field is a character field with up to 25 characters. You could easily create various "custom" display screens with the "filter" column. This can be accomplished by setting the filter value of individual devices with letters of "groups". For example, you can set every device that is on the first floor with a filter value that contains the letter "A". Every device on the second floor can be set to contain the letter "B". Every device that is a light can contain the letter "C". Every device that is an appliance can contain the letter "D", etc. You can then set the filter to something like "pos(filterval,'B') > 0" without the double quotes. Every device that has a filter value that at least contains the letter "B" will now be displayed.

HTH,

Dave.
