Dave,

I don't know what I did, I cant get the new version working with my old database. The database conversion upgrade seems to work, but when I start PH, nothing appears. No devices, no macros, nothing.

I have a couple of backup copies of my .db files, plus the ones that PH made. Could I email one to you and see if you can fix it? (its around 10mb, so I might have to post it on the net for you to download)

I'm at wits end on this. I don't want to have to start over from scratch. Please help!

First thing to check is the pwrhome.ini file to make sure that it's pointing at the correct database. It should be at the very top under the [DataBase] section.

Next, look at the directory where the PowerHome database is pointed to, verify that the file indeed exists.

If PowerHome is launching without error and it looks like a fresh database in the PowerHome Explorer, then PowerHome is just looking at the wrong file. As long as the DB Upgrade did not have any errors, then it should be OK. You may want to rename the backup of your database and try the upgrade again.

Let me know where you're at on this and we'll get it worked out.

Dave.

Dave,

I got it working. I am using Vista, and the problem was that Vista uses a "VirtualStore" directory for legacy applications. My upgraded DB was going there.

I was just messing around, and had to disable and enable UAC several times. I have no idea what I did, but its working.

Such is life.

Thanks!

So do you have PowerHome running in Vista? If so, what version? Did you have any problems with the ScriptServer? Did you have to do anything special to install?

Anyways, glad to hear that all is working now.

Let me know if you have any other problems.

Dave.
