I have just set up the 2843-222 open/close sensors to alert me when my garage doors go up, down, or remain open.
Most of the time all is OK, but my problem is that at random, I am not getting a reply that can trip a trigger.
There are many dual-band devices in my home and 2 pair of access points. Due to these problems I moved one pair of access points into the garages, they are set up OK on 2 phases. I performed tests and am still getting missed events.
Under devices, the Clear Failed is constantly red.
Failed matches and Ext Failed Matches are red and 5
Also when I set them up, there are no direct device types, I have the device types as a 2458D3 – AccessPoint LampLinc
IEngine is I2CS, “Use Ext for ALDB” is checked.
Running PH 2.1.5d
Upon an open/close - something is getting through as I see “Grp Brdcast success/fail” events, but not always the Group 1 On or Off that I need.
Any thoughts or advice?
Thank you!
Event Log:
Garage door 2 opening, all OK, trigger ran:
Garage door 2 closing, all OK, trigger ran - but also got 2 Grp Brdcast success/fail events:
Garage door 4 opening, OK, trigger ran:
Garage door 4 closing, NG, no trigger ran, but got 2 Grp Brdcast success/fail events:
Triggers (all have a Boolean of 1):
Also when I clear the Comm Failed, I see timeouts:

Still fighting this issue with the battery/RF 2843-222 open/close sensors:
To generalize – I am always getting “Grp Brdcast success/fail” events, but NOT always the Group 1 On or Off events that I need to kick off a trigger.
Would you think that the issue is RF reception or powerline noise?
I have the same behavior on all 4 sensors.
If it is either reception or noise, then why do I always/dependably get the “Grp Brdcast success/fail” events? I would imagine that either reception or noise would randomly thwart “Grp Brdcast success/fail” events, just like the Group 1 on/off events…
I am considering replacing the open/close sensors with an IOLinc solution. No RF, just powerline.
Thoughts?
Thank you!

I had similar problem while back and switch to IOLinc
and it works great. My X10 even worked fine but insteon
RF had an issue.
