Dave,
I'm not sure where the problem lies yet but my X-10 commands stopped working. All communications been great for quite awhile now.... but all of a sudden yesterday all X-10 communications stopped. Insteon was still working though. I closed PH and let the sdm close and re opened it all and it is working fine now....

I had the same problem and it is still not resolved but that is a different matter. Is your CM11 the problem?
I am more and more inclined to switch to z-wave when PH has support for it....

As you'll see in another post: I've got the problem sorted out and "all's well on the western front" Tell me what the difference is between Insteon and X10 since Insteon is not sold here in Europe if I am correct..

Todd,
Ive seen this problem before and it appears to be a bug with the SDM. It sometimes just stops sending or receiving X10 and restarting the SDM will take care of it. Based upon this and other X10 SDM related problems, I think most people are actually using a separate controller for the X10 commands.
Peter,
Insteon is the new PLC (powerline carrier) technology invented by SmartLabs Inc. as a replacement/upgrade to X10 technology. It's billed as a dual signal technology with both PLC and RF components but currently only the phase coupler uses the RF side of things. In general, the communications protocol is faster, mesh technology where each device repeats and amplifys the signal, more addresses, two-way, acknowledged, and more available commands. It's got some quirks and has the potential to become a major player in the future of lighting control. It's fairly new and I havent heard if there are any plans for 230 volt versions.
Dave.
